Cardamom!

Today, I want to share with you the benefits of Cardamom. This HERB is POWERFUL, has been used for centuries-AND it's probably sitting in your pantry right now!

Cardamom comes from the seeds of a few different plants that all belong to the same family as ginger.

There hasn't been a lot of scientific study on this herb but there is a lot of research that shows that cardamom is a good source of potassium, calcium, iron, magnesium and phosphorus which make it great for hair growthamongst many other things you'll see below! Studies have shown that cardamom's essential oil was effective in killing several different types of bacteria and fungi because the oil has the ability to damage the cell membrane of certain bacteria. (but don't TAKE the extract unprescribed as that could be very harmful). The list of benefits of safely adding the powder/crushed seeds to your food are long and suggest that cardamom:

  • Lowers blood pressure

  • Protects against cancer

  • Fights tumors

  • Improves liver function

  • Helps digestion and heals ulcers

  • And many, many more good things!

By adding a generous pinch to all your meals along with other fresh herbs & sprices makes for not only a delicious meal, but a very medicinal one as well!

So drink up your chai tea and perhaps indulge in one of these treats to get in your cardamom
